Difference between different version of patches of XF Nll

Hello,
I have seen on many sites which provide XF nulls that they have mostly two versions of the release of xf null version.. First is Patch 1 and next is patch 2.. In some, its a and b.. So what's the second version?

for eg, in the latest version:2.1.8, its patch 2 being posted latest right now.. So what's the version between the earlier version of 2.1.8 and now the latest version?

patches are fixes that are made to xenforo when they find a system failure therefore patch 2 xenforo is the latest version

Ohhhh, I never bought xf original license.. So I always thought that XF always releases the new version without any bugs/errors. Everybody is human

Sometimes this happens. The last time it happens twice times. For the versions from 2.1.x it was the first time, i guess.
