How to install add-ons?

Hey, this may sound really dumb but how do I do it? People tell me to upload it to the xenforo root directory but I tried it but never worked. I am using FileZilla and it’s being hosted on a vps

Please tell me how to do this with any add on, posting pictures are appreciated.

you must load the src folder in your root directory when finished loading you must install the plugin from xenforo administration
