i wanted to know ... to receive payments on paypal, do I have a company account or a normal account?
does the normal account work the same?

Personal account will work. However, there a limit transaction for personal account. If you have plan for have big transaction create a Business account.

Just so you know Business accounts also have a higher transaction fee.
