Xenforo 2.1 can users display different groups?

i cant seem to find the location to change what usergroup image i want to show in the message cell. is this not an option in xenforo? lets say a user is added in group 1 and group 2, how can he switch between which group image shows if they arent stacked?

You can stack usergroup banners if you want, or it will go as sorting manner. The higher the usergroup value is, that usergroup banner will be shown.

yeah, right. thats what i have noticed so far out of the box with xenforo. so does this mean if the banners are not stacked, it only goes through as a sorting matter? the problem is users will not be able to pick what group to display if they are in multiple and banners arent stacked.
