How about I just installed the following addon "[XenConcept] Hide BBC code"
it breaks my whole editor

no show bbcodes I uninstalled the addon and still did not see it again

I guess permissions are missing and did you checked the settings of the addon themself, like

• Allow hide tags on first post (Create thread)
• Allow hide tags on replies
